A Covering for Man

“Also for Adam and his wife the LORD God made tunics of skin, and clothed them.” (Genesis 3:21 NKJV)

God is continually coming to our rescue. Adam and Eve were aware of their condition and fearful of facing God after the fall. However, God was not without compassion for He provided for their needs then as He would in the future.

Our God loves us. He would have every right to destroy us without mercy. We do not deserve to live. I know this sounds hard, and I don’t mean we are not to value human life for we should. I simply recognize our guilt before God.

What a blessing it is that God has removed our sin. Adam had his sin covered, we have ours removed. “As far as the east is from the west, [So] far has He removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalms 103:12 NKJV)

With such a blessing, how should we act? Remember, without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Heb 9:22). Adam’s sin cost the life of the Creator. Surely, if we are to live by faith, we must lay down control of our lives too.
