A Genuine Glory Fit
“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable [are] His judgments and His ways past finding out! "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" "Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?" For of Him and through Him and to Him [are] all things, to whom [be] glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:33-36 NKJV)
Paul has just laid out an amazing defense of the Gospel in chapters 1-11 of this book and is about to shift gears to make application, but first, he has to stop and glory in his wonderful Lord. “Oh, the depths of the riches both of wisdom and knowledge of God!”
Take time in your life to ponder the majesty of God. After all, it is through meditation that one is planted by the streams of water (Ps. 1:1-3). You will not be as prone to sin if you bathe in the Glory of God. Think about what happened when Jesus revealed a little of His glory to people. The most common reaction is falling down.
It is hard for us to understand this phenomenon because we rarely take time to see His glory. The most common experience is probably beholding the glory of God in His creation. His majesty shines from the highest mountain peak and graces the little newborn baby. Still, these marvels pale next to the glory found in His person.
Where is the greatest revelation of God? It is in His Word. If you have not experienced a glory fit, then you have not plumbed the depths of His Word often enough or deep enough. Meditation will open the doors of heaven to you so that the glory of God may pour over you and wash the filth of this world away.
Listen, God wants you! He doesn’t care about sacrifice; He cares about having a relationship with you. The way to have that relationship is to become a student of His Word. You must become His disciple. Start today because you never know what tomorrow might bring. Amen.
