God Knows All

“And to the angel of the church in Thyatira write, These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: ‘I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and [as] for your works, the last [are] more than the first. Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works. Now to you I say, and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no other burden. But hold fast what you have till I come. And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations—— He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels ——as I also have received from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’” (Revelation 2:18-29 NKJV)

The attribute that burst forth as a blinding light from the message to this church is omniscience. The Lord is described as having eyes like a flame of fire, piercing, all-knowing eyes. Again and again one reads, “I know your works.” Later in the same passage He says, “I am He who searches the minds and hearts.”

My dear friends God sees into the dark recesses of your heart. He sees the sins you have buried deep below the touch of conscience. Nothing is hidden from Him. Your darkness will be reveal as His eyes flash more brilliant than any sun, and when your wickedness is exposed there will be nothing to comfort you but repentance and that will come with mourning.

Oh cling to the blessed words of the Lord, “unless they repent of their deeds.” There is hope in Christ. Repentance is the answer! Yes the One who will dash to pieces the wicked will also have mercy on all who repent.

“O God, You know my foolishness; And my sins are not hidden from You” (Psalms 69:5 NKJV). “Hide Your face from my sins, And blot out all my iniquities.” (Psalms 51:9 NKJV) “I, [even] I, [am] He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; And I will not remember your sins.” (Isaiah 43:25 NKJV “. . . if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” (Ezekiel 18:21 NKJV) “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew 26:28 NKJV)
