Reasons for Unanswered Prayer: Sin

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, That it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy, That it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden [His] face from you, So that He will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:1-2 NKJV)

When God refuses to answer us, we should take a look at ourselves. We know that God is faithful, but we tend to wander. Oh, that it were not so, but self-examination will tell you otherwise.

The fact that God is faithful is exactly why He can’t answer sometimes. He must be faithful to Himself and His own Word. The above passage tells us that un-confessed sin will stop the Lord from hearing our prayers.

Therefore, don’t blame God when your prayers go unanswered, but rather confess your sins and He will hear you. Prayers of true repentance and confession are always heard on high.
