Why Pray? Because Prayer Accomplishes Things
Prayer accomplishes many great things. Sin is exposed, washing takes place, eyes are opened, wisdom is gained, power is brought to the work, the church is blessed, and souls are converted.
Prayer is not a task to be left for others. It is an urgent ministry with which all believers should wrestle.
We have read these words before, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
Why does God listen, because the Lord wants to hear us? He desires that we pursue Him without ceasing because this helps us and glorifies Him.
No matter what talent you have, whether you are cleaver, or even if your righteousness exceeds all your peers, only the Spirit of God can bring about real change in the heart of man. If we desire to see His power manifest we must pray.
Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: "There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. "Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’" Then the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge said. And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:1-8 NKJV)
There is the real issue isn’t it? Will He find faith? Will He find us crying for the souls of lost men and women, boys and girls? Will He see us standing firm on the Word without compromise even though society tells us to shut up? Not unless we pray, for faith and prayer live in the same house, the house that God built!
Do you need something done, Well “if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.”
